Wrapping up the Wanna Jam entry! I wasn't happy with the jam submission and it left more to be desired, especially with the feedback and live gameplay I seen. So here's a list of the new changes I did for the game!
List of changes:
- Boss fight at the end is now playable and beatable!
- Implemented more sounds into the game.
- Fix some major bug crashing issues players can accidently encounter
- Enemy Guards can now jump to get to you, except for gaps where there's spikes. I want to send a message to the player that they don't have the high ground anymore!
- Added a visual effect to the corrupt mages taking damage when their shield is up. Some assume the projectiles don't hurt due to the lack of visual communication, but this should fix it!
- Fixed the bug of not being able to pause the game.
- Player jumps in the air faster and falls faster.
- Player is slightly faster in movement. (Not fast enough that it ruins the slow combat tactics I had in mind)
- Player's mana recovery is now increased to 1 mana per 1.4 seconds. (Used to be .5 mana per 1 second)
- Player attacks now have slightly lower casting time. I still want the players to reposition themselves in the fight and not rely solely on one spell. Dark Punch is now 1.4 instead of 1.7 Dark Blast is now .85 instead of .95 Dark Arc is now 1.1 instead of 1.2 Shadow Conjure is now 2.4 instead of 2.7
- I took away two lines from the intro as I felt it was a bit too much dialogue.
- I rearrange some tutorial text better as I noticed in the live gameplays, players dismisses it and gets confused why the one spell isn't too effective. Having the text more bite size and spread across should solve this.
- Space bar can now be use to jump!
That concludes the changes! There's still a good bit of visual design that can be implemented into the game by my background artist. If they finish the designs later, I will update the build once more with the new visual flare! Same with any additional sound effects that get created later. Hope you guys enjoy the overall changes!
